The LaCie 2big RAID 8 TB (model STHJ8000800) is a professional-grade dual-bay external RAID storage solution designed for creatives, video editors, photographers and backup-centric workflows. With a total capacity of 8 TB (built from two 4 TB enterprise-class drives), it offers both high capacity and flexibility in RAID configuration.
With support for hardware RAID 0 (for maximum speed and full capacity), RAID 1 (for real-time mirroring and data redundancy) and JBOD (for independent drive use), this unit adapts to your workflow whether you prioritise speed, safety or versatility.
Thanks to a USB-C interface (USB 3.1 Gen 2 / USB 3.2 Gen 2, 10-Gb/s) and support for Mac & PC, the 2big RAID connects easily to modern workstations.
Performance is strong: up to ~440 MB/s transfer speeds allow large file transfers, 4K video workflows and heavy creative workloads without being bottlenecked.
On the hardware side, the dual-bay design uses 7200 RPM IronWolf Pro drives built for RAID environments, with hot-swappable capability so you can replace a failed drive without shutting down the array.
The product also includes a 5-year limited warranty and Rescue Data Recovery service (important when you’re storing critical data).
In short: if you need a robust, high-capacity, flexible RAID box for desktop use (editing, archiving, backups) and you want both speed and redundancy options, the LaCie 2big RAID 8TB is a solid choice.

Boost your productivity with the LaCie® 2big RAID, a powerful, high-capacity external desktop storage solution built for creative professionals. Offering up to 60 TB of massive capacity, it provides the space you need to manage extensive media libraries, backups, and large project files with ease. Featuring hardware RAID 0/1, it delivers both blazing-fast speeds for intensive workflows and dependable redundancy for critical data protection. With versatile USB-C compatibility, it integrates seamlessly with modern systems for smooth, high-performance transfers. Reliable, scalable, and efficient, the LaCie 2big RAID is engineered to keep up with the demands of video editors, photographers and digital creators.

Connectivity is strong: USB-C interface with compatibility across USB3.x / USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 / USB4 environments ensures broad system support. The peak transfer speed of up to ~250 MB/s means you can move large batches of data without long waits. On the security front, the drive features built-in hardware encryption (Seagate Secure / LaCie Secure) and password protection, giving you peace of mind when transporting sensitive content
